About us

The Hope Hubb is a survivor-led platform created by me, Tara Brown in memory of my brother, Jason John Brown, who was kidnapped and violently murdered in 2019.

This space exists for families affected by violence — to share stories, find support, and demand justice reform that truly listens.

We speak from lived experience. We know the grief, the delays, and the silence survivors are expected to endure. And we believe in speaking out, even when the system doesn’t make space for us.

In June 2026, Bill C-14, the Bail and Sentencing Reform Act, received Royal Assent and came into force on July 15, 2026, making bail stricter and sentencing tougher for repeat and violent offending. It's a step forward, but survivors still have to fight to be heard.
